You are invited to join Business Paihia in 2007
Recently we became an incorporated society and changed our name from Paihia Business Association to Business Paihia. We are made up of member businesses from Paihia, Haruru Falls, Waitangi and Opua. We aim to build a dynamic business environment and to be influential in decision making in the community. In the last year we have done this by:
· Holding regular meetings to inform members about business and community developments and to provide a forum where members can express their views;
· Producing a regular newsletter to provide up-to-date information and to encourage businesses to join;
· Developing open communication with organisations such as local bodies, national tourism operators, government bodies and regional business associations to promote the views of the local business community;
· Developing and promoting the community website www.paihia.co.nz so that it becomes THE one stop shop for visitors or residents wanting information on Paihia an essential communication tool for the 21st century;
· Building community spirit and promoting Paihia as a top destination by organising events such as the Christmas Parade, the Summer Festival, the Fireworks Spectacular and the Matariki Festival;
· Supporting events which bring tourists to the area such as the Country Rock and Jazz Festivals, sports events and cruise ship visits;
· Organising a combined radio advertising campaign for Paihia businesses prior to Christmas on the theme, Paihia, where the welcome is always warmer;
· Strengthening cooperative relationships with other community groups such as the Residents and Ratepayers Association, the Motel Association and the Hotel and Major Operators Group to provide a strong community voice in submissions to the Far North District Council on issues affecting Paihia;
· Participating in the workshop for the development of the Paihia Strategic Plan;
· Producing welcome packs for new business owners.
