Mangonui Lions Fun Run and Walk

Mangonui Lions Club are holding a Fun Run and Walk on Sunday 2nd November as a fundraiser for their community projects, and to promote health and fitness in the community.

The main events are 6km and 8km from Mangonui School to Coopers Beach, via Historic Mangonui Village and Mill Bay, with entry fee of $10 taken on the day. As a Fun Run and Walk no times will be recorded, and spot prizes provided by local businesses will be given away drawn by lot.

The short 2km for the children will be along Coop

Kaipara Moana Symposium - an event showcasing the Kaipara Harbour

The Integrated Kaipara Harbour Management Group (IKHMG) is hosting an inaugural event to showcase and celebrate our special and unique taonga, the Kaipara Harbour. The event provides an opportunity to celebrate a 10 year partnership, to network, to share knowledge, and to support action under the theme of 'Kaipara Moana: looking back, thinking forward'.
The event will be held over two days at Te Hana Te Ao Marama - Maori Cultural Centre.

Haydn's Creation

The Bay of Islands Singers present Haydn's masterpiece, The Creation, at the Turner Centre in Kerikeri on Sunday November 23 at 2.30 p.m. The choir will be joined by singers from other choirs north of Auckland, and will be acompanied by a 24 piece orchestra and Michael Bell on organ. The soloists are Jayne Tankersley, Lachlan Craig and Tavis Gravatt, and the performance will be conducted by John Jackets. Adults $28, under 18 $12.

Expore Paihia Half Marathon

Starting from the Copthorne Hotel in Waitangi the Explore Paihia Half Marathon course takes you along Paihia waterfront through Waitangi and the stunning Haruru Falls bush track. When you pass the Waitangi Golf course on Tau Henare Drive you are wowed by the magical views of the Bay of Islands.

With our new 12km course those who do not wish to tackle the half marathon will simply head through the Haruru Falls Track around the back roads and back to the Copthorne. Both courses involve a taste of everythi
