Adventure Centre - learn to scuba dive, kayak the coast or river, parasail above the Bay, catch a fast boat to the Hole in the Rock, charter your own yacht, take an off-road trail by horse or 4 wheel motor bike, hook a marlin in the waters made famous by Zane Grey.

There are two airports nearby, Whangarei, 1 hour from Paihia with an average of 9 flights per day from Auckland, and Kerikeri, 20 minutes from Paihia with 4 flights per day.

The Waitangi Treaty Grounds, overlooking the Bay of Islands, is New Zealand's pre-eminent historic site. It is a place of belonging and enjoyment that is central to the life of the nation and special to all New Zealanders.

It was here on February 6th, 1840, that the Treaty of Waitangi was first signed between Maori and the British Crown.
